Our student exchange program

Youngstown Sister Cities believes that the future lies in our young people. In order to promote world peace and understanding of different cultures, Youngstown Sister Cities, in cooperation with the Youth Exchange Program of Rotary District 6650 (the district in which Youngstown is located), has assisted in the exchange of over 25 high school students since 1997 between Slovakia and Rotary District 6650. We encourage any student between the ages of 15 to 18, whether in the Spiš area of Slovakia or in Rotary District 6650, to apply to our program.

Steve Bacon Scholarship

The Steve Bacon Scholarship will provide $1000 to any student of 1/8th Slovak heritage going to Slovakia through the Rotary High School Exchange Program. This financial aid will also be available for students from Spišská Nová Ves who are studying through a Rotary Program in Ohio, Pennsylvainia or Michigan.
